Summer camp has always been a huge part of my life and for the past 6 years or so, I've been at one particular camp in South Carolina. Glenn, the assistant director, has always been a strong spiritual leader during camp and we were all overjoyed when we heard that he'd found a very special someone and that they were not only getting married, but getting married there at the camp!
I was there for the last two weeks of camp and got to meet Iveth. She is THE coolest ever, and has two of the most adorable and sweet kids, Becky and Caleb. They are incredibly fun, and I could tell by their involvement in the wedding that family and God are of utmost importance in their lives.
Nosoca Pines Ranch is right on the lake, gorgeous and secluded in nature; perfect for their wedding. Now of course, being at camp, you have to be willing to change plans fast due to weather. Lol, that comes later. But for now, here's the preview!
Iveth was ready for The Grand Reveal, so we all piled into the van and drove across the field to the point where the wedding was set up and Glenn was waiting :)
Not gonna lie, I feel quite privileged, since there was quite the crowd of girls that wanted the vantage point I had :)
And then we were off to take portraits in the 97 degree heat. Yes, give props, they still looked fabulous. Inbetween some cool-down sessions in the van, we got some keepers...
A bit into it, they wanted Becky and Caleb included so while we were up at the barn, I got the honors of shooting a brand new family :)
Then we had fun with their wedding parties...the guys, just to explain, always love playing kickball when they get together. So we couldn't pass up a nod to the game :)
And Caleb came by at the wrong time ;-)
The ceremony was gorgeous, with Iveth arriving in a horse carriage (complete with carriage driver in a top-hat, woohoo!), escorted by Becky and Caleb.
The twinkle-lit reception (complete with fireworks and FLASHMOB DANCE, how cool is that?? They did it to "Kiss me")
It was awesome, up until the point it started thundering. Yup, remember that at camp, you should always have a Plan B for rain (to plan it is actually required for activity leaders). Well rain started coming down, and after some dashes into the gazebo to dry off my camera, I was relieved to hear we were moving into the cafe.
Things finished without a hitch (including another flashmob to a rendition of Do-Re-Mi) and they were off!

Now, if you're one of those curious people (like me), who are wanting to know what damage the rain did, look no further. The next morning, I was supposed to pack up my cabin and leave, but I wanted to run down and see the carnage because in all my years there, it rained pretty much as hard as I'd ever seen it rain there. Pretty much it was exactly as I thought it'd be...

At this point, those who would rather enjoy the fairytale part of it have got to be thinking what in the world I'm doing ending my post like this, showing the carnage of what's left. Well there's something for you too, don't worry. Seeing the reception area, I had the thought, "Oh crap, no one picked up the stuff from the ceremony..." ...meaning the Unity vase that held sand from Glenn & Iveth as well as Becky & Caleb was still out on the Point, subject to all the forces of nature.
And yet I found it safe, sound and still standing, despite the insanity of the storm. What they'd poured into it was still there, and it even had a little evaporated memory of their first experience as an official family :)
Glenn & Iveth, God bless your new family and I wish you safe weathering of all storms to come! LOVE YOU!!
